This was our second week of spring staff, and it felt a little strange, because there wasn’t a group here. Normally we have groups here every day for 2 months straight. So everybody was busy doing different projects and stuff, and we had some time for doing different activities like…

1) Hockey/Heartland Night! It seems like this might become a regular thing. We’ll see. Everyone who wants to watch hockey crams into our living room, and I escape to the other side of the duplex to go watch Heartland with Krystal and any of the girls who are interested. And endure extreme mockery for it. There is only a small group of us who truly appreciate the wonder of Heartland. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about and have yet to experience it, Heartland is a TV show about horses – squeaky-clean and wholesome, with a good amount of cheesy-ness thrown in. “Healing horses, healing hearts.” Oh, yes. We have our hearts healed. The best part is that I hate horses! And yet, for some reason, I feel my heart being healed every time…

Anyway, here’s a picture of some hockey fans, and some people who don’t care about hockey, but just want to hang out.

2) Team building. Yesturday was the most beautiful day ever, and we spent the later part of the afternoon doing a team building activity, and having a wiener roast. And for those of you who are not familiar with team building acitivities, they are games/activities/challenges that can only be completed if people work together. It demonstrates how individuals work together in different situations, and brings out strengths and weaknesses that can be addressed so that in real-life situations, everyone can work together better.

Beautiful day with a beautiful ending:
