I just counted how many keys I have on the key ring that I carry around in my pocket. Each key opens something different. Only one of them opens the door to my house. No matter how long I try to get into my house using one of those other keys, I won’t get in until I use my house key.
Many people think that there are lots of different keys (religions) to choose from that will get them into God’s presence. Jesus says that’s not the case. In John 14:6, He said, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Just as only one of the keys on my ring gets me into my house, Jesus is the key – the only key to get to God.
The apostles understood this to be true. In Acts 4:12, Peter said, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
So don’t be fooled by those who say there are many ways to God or that no matter which path (key) you use, you will get to the same god. Jesus’ message was exclusive whether we like it or not. Faith in Christ is the key that opens the door to the presence of the one true God. That is why at Red Rock Bible Camp, we are all about making and growing disciples of Christ through Christian camping.
