ACTS is an acrostic I use almost every day when I pray to God. A is for Adoration. I spend a few minutes adoring God and praising Him for who He is and what He does.

C is for confession. I think back over the last day or so and try to recall any sin that I have committed. I confess that to God and ask Him to help me avoid that sin.

T is for thanksgiving. I spend a few minutes thinking about all the things I am thankful for.

S is for supplication. That part of my prayer is mostly for others. I pray for friends and family members who are ill or going through difficult times.

If you aren’t sure how to pray, I encourage you to use the ACTS acrostic as a guide. I hope that it will give you some direction and focus in your prayer life.

Psalm 5:1-3 says, “Give ear to my words o LORD, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”
