So as the title suggests, yesterday deserves a bit of attention. God did amazing things last night during the Worship Night! So many were receptive and obedient to the Holy Spirit, campers and staff alike. The beginning looked like no one was going to open up, like no one had anything to share. But when the first camper shared, there was few pauses after because everyone wanted to share something. At one point, campers were given a chance to take an “Admit one” ticket and nail it to the cross signifying they were admitting something to Jesus and leaving it there. When the music started to play, a mob of people turned to nail something to the cross. It was evident that the Holy Spirit was present.

At the end of Worship Night, our worship leader Allison opened the floor up for people to get up and encourage those that they had seen Jesus in this last week. Again, everyone responded and the chapel erupted with people praying for and encouraging one another. It continued way late into the night, the time it ended is known by few.

Chapel this morning showed how this week effected the campers. Many were more open than they were in the beginning of the week, and they looked like they were free. As Kent’s last day to talk to the campers as a whole, he used the time to tell them what steps to take next. A lot of the campers were scared of the summer camp high, and they really don’t want to go back home and fall away. Kent told them to stay in community. We are not built to live in isolation. Hebrews 10:24-25 says exactly that- do not give up meeting with one another. Proverbs 27:17 says that just as iron sharpens iron so do we sharpen each other. Galatians 6:1-2 builds on that and tells us to share one another’s burdens. Kent closed with a verse from Acts, and explained that the Holy Spirit is a gift from God, and the Holy Spirit will help us as we go along in our walk and our days to come.

Acts 2:38-39

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
