What a jam packed day. The days to follow are sure to be just ask packed with even more fun than what we had today. It started off with the campers arriving and heading off to orientation right away. They did their swim tests, even though it was really chilly!

We had them come to the chapel to pick their skill choices for OSS (Operation Select Skills).

Many of the skills were just getting to know each other, so there was a lot of bonding games including the infamous whacking game in drama and acting like wilderness people making their group calls and sneaking up on other skills in wilderness skill.

Kent Martens is our speaker for Summer Scorcher. He has been coming for many years already and we enjoy when he does come because of his enthusiasm with the youth. Tonight he touched on a lot of what the Bible says about what the Kingdom is. He really pushed the theme “seek” because he wanted the campers to actually seek the answers and understand what all the verses are talking about when they talk about the Kingdom. He left us with the verse Colossians 1:12-14; “and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”
