Assistant Food Services Manager

Position: FULL TIME

Responsible to: FOOD SERVICES MANAGER

Start Date: ASAP

Red Rock Bible Camp is a year-round recreational camp in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. We are currently looking to hire a Assistant Food Services Manager (AFSM).

QUALIFICATIONS

The AFSM will form part of Red Rock Bible Camp’s food services leadership team.  The AFSM will work together with the Food Services Manager to guide and teach other kitchen helpers, to prepare and serve meals/desserts/snacks for guests and staff and by cleaning up and washing dishing at the end of each meal.  The leadership team will meet briefly each morning before other kitchen staff arrive to discuss and plan the day, and may sometimes be required to work longer hours than other non-paid kitchen staff.  Below is a list of duties a successful ASFM will need to preform;

  • Setting an example of a Christ like life, encouraging the other kitchen staff in their walk with Christ.
  • Responsible for cooking and baking of camp meals.
  • Responsible for directing kitchen helpers in daily kitchen duties.
  • Guide and teach, Safe Food handing to kitchen helpers.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen (counters, sinks, floors etc).
  • Responsible to fill and replace all toxic cleaning chemicals.
  • Assume Food Services Manger role in their absence.
  • Work together with Food Services Manager to oversee all daily kitchen operations.
  • WHMIS and Food Food Handlers level 1 expected but not required.

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Position: Full Time

Responsible to: Executive Director and Camp Manager 

Start Date: April 15, 2018 

Red Rock Bible Camp is a year-round recreational camp in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. We are currently looking to hire a Maintenance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Maintenance Manager will be an integral part of the full-time staff team at Red Rock. They will oversee the care, maintenance and improvements of the grounds, facilities and buildings. The successful candidate is required to be a self-motivated person who is capable of working independently or in a team setting. 

Below is a list of duties a successful Candidate will need to preform;

  • Be a servant leader. Lead by example and encourage the staff and or volunteers in their spiritual walk with Christ by your words and actions
  • Participate with the Executive Director and other Managers as part of a unified, servant leadership team to:
    • serve the campers and guests who attend Red Rock Bible Camp
    • disciple and build up the other camp staff
    • reach out to the local community as ambassadors of Christ
    • enhance and enthusiastically participate in the community life of the full time, on site staff
  • Oversee and provide leadership to the maintenance department
  • Keep camp equipment and buildings in good repair and in safe operating condition
  • Manage the Water Treatment Plant in order to maintain a safe water treatment.
  • Ensure the plant is in full compliance with Red Rock Bible Camp’s operating license
  • Maintain the SBR (Waste Water Treatment Plant) ensuring the plant is in full compliance with Red Rock Bible Camp’s operating license
  • Provide regular service and maintenance of all of camp’s motor vehicles
  • Keep grounds, shoreline, driveway, parking lot and trails maintained in all seasons
  • Assume responsibility for contacting proper authorities for repairs on utility related issues
  • Arrange for proper storage and adequate inventory of supplies, tools and equipment
  • Oversee camp custodial responsibilities for all accommodations and buildings
  • Oversee small construction projects, as well provide assistance when working with outside contractors
  • Participate in training and certification courses as required (paid for by the camp)
  • Must be physically fit, capable of working long hours, in all conditions
  • Other duties as assigned

Executive Director

RRBC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Our mission statement says, “Red Rock Bible Camp exists to provide Christ Centered Discipleship every camping day, in every camping way!” With that said, the first and foremost aspect of this job is to have and maintain a loving, growing relationship with Jesus as Lord of your life. The chosen individual for this job will need to agree to our Statement of Faith as well as our Lifestyles and Morality Standards policy.

The Executive Director reports to the Board, who provide governance and aid in the vision for the organization, and supervision for the ED position.

This position is full-time position. Start date will be at a mutually agreed time by the RRBC board and successful candidate. RRBC offers a competitive salary and benefits package, along with a rewarding work environment.

Position / Title – Executive Director
Reporting to – Board of Directors

OVERALL OUTCOMES

The position of Executive Director is to take on the overall leadership of Red Rock Bible Camp’s ministry in a God honouring way. A love and heart for camping ministry is a must and the leadership should model a servant’s heart.

The leadership of RRBC will be accomplished through goal setting, strategic planning, hiring and administration of the staff, effective communication to all stake holders, sharing information, and monitoring the fiscal aspects of RRBC. This position is based out of the Steinbach office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In consultation with the Board, lead the team, working together to achieve the vision and mission of RRBC
  • Coordinate the development of overall strategy for RRBC
  • Coordinate the preparation of budgets, priorities and key performance objectives for RRBC
  • Provide assistance and support to the Board and staff in order to achieve agreed upon priority goals for RRBC
  • Nurture relationships with our stake holders
  • Act as the representative for RRBC in relationships with other agencies
  • Oversee the hiring, job definition, supervision and releasing of all staff
  • Manage office functions, ensuring a harmonious environment, ensuring there is an adequate flow of information among staff
  • Oversee and provide assistance in the budgeting and financial reporting
  • Oversee the accounting functions, including requisitions, authorizations and financial management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate degree in Theology, Missiology or Christian Education
  • Business or Administration Degree and/or Leadership would be an asset
  • Knowledge and experience in Christian camping
  • Experience as an administrator is considered an asset

Seasonal Staff

Responsible to: Camp Manager

ASAP till April 30th 2018

Red Rock Bible Camp is a year-round recreational camp in the Whiteshell Provincial Park. We are currently looking to hire Seasonal Staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

They must have completed their Grade 12 diploma. Applicant must be in good physical shape as the job includes, long hours, lots of standing, some heavy lifting and working in all weather conditions. Seasonal Staff at Red Rock Bible Camp are an integral part of the rentals and Outdoor Education program at RRBC. These staff help in the kitchen, maintenance and program area depending on needs of the group. Our Seasonal Staff live at Red Rock Bible Camp, room and board is provided. They are also part of the community at Red Rock Bible Camp and must maintain healthy relationships with those around them. Interested individuals must be in adherence with Red Rock Bible Camp’s Statement of Faith and be a committed follower of Jesus Christ and be connected to a local church.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare camp facilities and grounds for Outdoor Education, Red Rock Retreats and Rental Groups.
  • When needed be apart of the kitchen team to safely and effectively prepare, serve and cleanup meals for all groups
  • All other duties as directed by the department managers
